AN
ADVANCED OPERATIONAL
TRAINING
The capability to
network a combat
tactics trainer with
other trainers or a
mission simulator
makes Sogitec
systems very high
performance tools,
providing advanced
operational
training. |
With low procurement and
operating costs, the absence
of any particular
requirements regarding
installation and environment,
it can be used at squadron level.
As the functions of combat
tactics trainers are
primarily centered on the
navigation and weapons
system, pilot stick and
throttle levers are actual pieces of equipment. Most
other controls and
instruments are simulated
with maximum accuracy.
VISUAL ENVIRONMENT:
ADAPTABLE AND EVOLUTIONARY
SOLUTIONS
Different configurations of visual systems provide enough
flexibility to adapt Sogitec
combat tactic trainers to every customer's requirements. The most basic
configuration consists in an
image projected onto a 50°
horizontal by 40° vertical
field, on which the head-up
display image is
superimposed.
This configuration can be
extended to three projected
images, thus providing a
total field view of 150°
horizontally by 40°
vertically. For users wishing
to emphasise specific
air-to-air combat situations,
Sogitec also offers a
medium-size dome (approx. 4.5
m diam.) enabling
aerial targets to be
projected onto a high display
field, while offering the
possibility of displaying a
target and terrain image of
approximately 280°x120°.
TACTICAL ENVIRONMENT: MANAGING THREATS
A
geographical and tactical
environment server is
integrated into combat
tactics trainers. This
enables pilots to become
familiar with various
environmental conditions
(electromagnetic, infrared,
meteorological, geographical,
etc.) and to meet the various
ground/air and air threats
likely to be encountered
during missions. The quality
of modelling allows trainees to be immersed in environmental conditions
of an actual mission.
INSTRUCTOR OPERATING
SYSTEM: ORGANIZING COMPLEX
TACTICAL PATTERNS
The operator's console is
used to operate combat
tactics trainers and is
designed to allow an
"open shop" use of
the machine. The presence of
an instructor is optional.
The console may be equipped
with a control stick and
throttle lever to pilot a
winger or an aerial target.
Mission planning can be used
through a specific cartridge
drive. The comprehensive pedagogical
functions of the IOS include
the possibility of mission replay and
playback. Users have all
necessary means at their
disposal to build complex
tactical scripts, which can
be stored in a library for
fast retrieval at a later
stage. |
